Huila: Head of State envisages better future for Angolans

Matala, ANGOLA, November 11 - The construction of a better future for Angolans, the diversification of the national economy and the development of an open governance and closer to the citizens marked the speech of President João Lourenço, delivered in the rally held in the southern Huila Province as part of the main celebration act of Angola's 42nd Independence anniversary. ,

According to the Head of State, who gave the speech in Matala Municipality, the open governance is intended for the government to hear more directly the people’s concerns and aspirations.

He assured that during his term he will focus on resolving well some of the country’s problems that were not properly sorted out, aiming for a better future for Angolans.

In his address, the Angolan President said it is necessary to “neutralise or reduce the harmful influence of those that only want to serve themselves and neglecting the defence of the common good”.

“With the changes made to the banking sector and the public firms in the productive sector, is intended a greater mastery of some tools of governance that can be decisive for the development of the national economy”, explained the Angolan Head of State.

According to the country’s Chief Magistrate, after the conquest of National Independence on 11 November, 1975, it is now missing the conquest of economic independence, without which, he emphasised, the political one will not be complete.

He seized the occasion to remind the people about the heroic deed of Dr António Agostinho Neto, who proclaimed, before Africa and the world, the National Independence and foundation of the Angolan State, following five centuries of colonial invasion and exploitation.
