Statement by Minister of Foreign Affairs in response to violence following rerun of Kenyan presidential vote
The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, issued last Friday, the following statement:
“Canada is deeply concerned by the elevated tensions and violence seen during the electoral process in Kenya. We continue to call on all Kenyans to reject violence.
“At this critical time for Kenya’s democracy, Canada stands steadfast with the people of Kenya.”
