Three 2017 Honda models, the Fit, Civic and HR-V were each ranked highly by the experts at Kelley Blue Book (KBB) in their "10 Best Back-to-School Cars of 2017" list. More Honda vehicles were chosen by KBB than any other competitor, with the 2017 Fit subcompact car taking top honors and the Civic sedan and HR-V small SUV taking third and fourth places respectively.

The 10 Best Back-to-School Cars list focuses on vehicles with a purchase price of less than $20,000 that are appealing to both parents and their student children. Of the top ranked Honda Fit, KBB lauded its value, reliability and safety plus its style, fun-to-drive nature and class-leading cargo flexibility. They praised the Honda Civic as being a good first new car for students and just about anyone else, and the Honda HR-V for being the benchmark subcompact SUV.
