Gazpromneft-Aero increases retail jet fuel sales by 13% in 1h17

Based on its 1H17 results, Gazpromneft-Aero, the jet fuel operator of Gazprom neft, has increased retail sales of jet fuel to 1.1 million tonnes. This represents a 13% rise year-on-year and ensures that the company maintains its leading position on the Russian market of into-plane fueling. The total volume of jet fuel sales in 1H17 exceeded 1.6 million tonnes.

Gazpromneft-Aero has the largest distribution network on the domestic market, which comprises 46 fueling complexes in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The company’s customer base includes over 150 Russian and international airlines.

The Company’s international fueling volumes have doubled year-on-year to over 90 thousand tonnes. Gazpromneft-Aero has also extended its international airport network from 178 to 187 airports in more than 60 countries worldwide. The growth was driven by the development of strong partnerships with leading aviation fuel suppliers in the local markets.

Vladimir Egorov, General Director of Gazpromneft-Aero, said: “According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, passenger traffic in Russian airports grew by 25% in 1H17 and retail consumption of jet fuel increased by 7%. This is a positive trend, and we expect further growth in the domestic market in the near future. This will be supported by several factors, such as increased mobility of the population, state support for the development of regional airports and increased interest in our country from foreign tourists. During the first half of 2017, we have also observed a growth of fueling volumes delivered to our customers abroad, especially in Asia: India, Thailand and China. Through growing our sale volumes both in Russia and abroad, expanding our distribution network and continuously improving our customer service standards, we maintain our leadership positions in Russia in relation to other jet fuel operators.”
