Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center Announces Participation at Pick-a-Pooch Pet Adoption Event on July 16 and 17

OMAHA, Neb., July 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center announces its participation in the upcoming Pick-a-Pooch pet adoption event. This free event is organized by Pets in Omaha and will be held at Ralston Arena on July 16 and 17. There, attendees can adopt dogs and cats, meet vendors, and even get free swag from some of the presenters. It's a great way for people to get pets and save them from being stuck in a shelter.

Pets are dropped off at animal shelters all the time, but very few have the good fortune of ending up with a forever home. If they stay at the shelter, they may be confined to small cages due to a lack of space. At some shelters, they end up being euthanized after a short period of time because of that same lack of space. Events like Pick-a-Pooch give these animals a chance to be adopted by loving people who will provide them with the environment they need to thrive for the long term.

"We're very glad to be part of this July's Pick-a-Pooch event. As a veterinary team, it makes perfect sense for us to support such an event and the pet rescue organization behind it. We love it when dogs and cats are able to meet and go home with caring new owners who'll give them everything they need to do their best," said Dr. Chris Horstman, the owner and chief of staff of Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center.

Despite its name, Pick-a-Pooch isn't just for adopting dogs. Cats will be there as well, and they'll be just as eager to meet new families as the canines. On the human side, there will be vendors and supporters of all sorts. As might be expected, plenty of veterinarians and related professionals will have booths, but there will also be car dealers, fence makers, custom t-shirt makers, and more. All of the organizations involved adore pets and want to help people find the perfect ones for their households.
