Orbit International Reports Consolidated Bookings in Excess of $2,100,000 for Month of March

Both Electronics and Power Groups Receive Orders in Excess of $1 Million

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., April 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Orbit International Corp. (OTC PINK:ORBT), an electronics manufacturer and software solution provider, today announced that consolidated bookings for its Electronics and Power Groups exceeded $2,100,000 for the month of March 2017.

Bookings for the Electronics Group slightly exceeded $1,000,000 and were highlighted by the previously announced letter subcontract received from a prime contractor for approximately $805,000, authorizing the Electronics Group to procure material for its displays on a major aviation program.  The value of the final purchase order, once negotiations are completed, is expected to exceed $2,200,000.  Deliveries for the awards received during March, including the completed units on the expected purchase order against the letter subcontract, are expected to commence in the second quarter of 2017 and continue through the fourth quarter of 2018.

Bookings for the Power Group also exceeded $1,000,000, which was divided approximately equally between its commercial and COTS divisions.  COTS bookings were highlighted by certain follow-on contracts from prime contractors and additional pre-production units utilizing the Power Group’s VPX technology.  Deliveries for these awards are expected to commence in the second quarter of 2017 and be completed in the third quarter of 2017.

Mitchell Binder, President and CEO of Orbit International, commented, “This solid bookings month for our Electronics Group includes the previously announced $805,000 letter subcontract. However, it does not include approximately $1,400,000 of the expected $2,200,000 related final purchase order for these displays that we expect will be received no later than early in the third quarter of 2017. The bookings in March continue the series of large awards received by our Electronics Group and have well positioned delivery schedules for this segment for the remainder of 2017.”

Binder added, “We are most encouraged by the strong bookings month from our Power Group, which has been adversely affected by weakness in the oil and gas industry and test and measurement business.  Bookings were solid for both our commercial and COTS divisions and pre-production orders continue for our VPX power supplies.  We are expecting a significant follow-on order for one of our COTS power supplies during the second quarter of 2017 although timing is always an uncertainty.”
