48V Technology Sets The Roadmap For A New Era of Electric Vehicles

While 48V is changing the face of battery and automotive industries, hundreds of exhibitors will be in Sindelfingen next month to showcase 48V-related products

SINDELFINGEN, BADEN-WURTTEMBERG, GERMANY, March 21, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- 48V battery technology is bringing about a new era of electric vehicles, giving rapid rise to electric architectures from world-leading automakers that deliver fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance.

Among those vehicle manufacturers currently pursuing 48V mild hybrid systems to deliver significant fuel savings are Daimler and Ford, and The Battery Show Conference and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Conference will be welcoming senior experts from both companies to share their views on what constitutes the optimum 48V architecture. Daimler’s Robert Inderka, Senior Manager 48V Drive-Systems, will examine the development of 48V drive systems, while Ford’s Armin Warm, Supervisor Advanced Power Supply & Energy Management, will delve into the requirements for batteries in low-voltage electrical architectures and power-supply systems. Representatives from industry majors Continental, Valeo, BorgWarner, Bosch, Huber+Suhner, and CATL will tackle other pressing talking points, including how to deliver fuel economy alongside comfortable driveability, and how to take a modular approach for components and electric architectures. Another prominent issue is how to standardise 48V battery packs in conventional cars, and Samsung’s Michael Bramberger will evaluate the possibilities and challenges for doing so.

With an increasing number of electric vehicles being designed to support 48V architectures, OEM and Tier 1 investment in this technology looks set to stay – and the potential cost savings are attracting global attention. This 4-6 April, this attention will be focused on Sindelfingen, and we invite those at all industry levels and all stages of 48V technology development to join us for three days of industry engagement, discovery, and networking.

More than 200 exhibitors will gather in Sindelfingen, Germany for the exhibitions – the largest industry events of their kind in the region, which are set to emulate the phenomenal success of their North American counterparts.

The two free-to-attend exhibitions are an unmissable opportunity to get to the heart of industry activity, meet with peers, and stay ahead on the latest developments. From the pioneers of new battery technology to those keen to adopt it, the entire supply chain is working to meet growing demand for fuel-efficient technologies – and we’re putting 48V under the spotlight.

The co-located exhibitions will explore how sector majors are serving the battery and automotive industries with cutting-edge systems and solutions for 48V applications. Industry leaders and experts including representatives from Valeo, Contintental and Prettl will be in attendance, displaying technologies for 48V and sharing their insights on the impact of 48V architectures on the battery and electric-hybrid automotive markets.

Running alongside The Battery Show and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo Europe exhibitions are paid-attendance conferences with an entire track dedicated to all aspects of 48V technology. The discussions will feature experts from automotive OEMs, Tier 1s, and academic and research organisations speaking on a range of topics and identifying emerging trends and strategies within this burgeoning market – from the initial development of 48V drive systems to determining and designing the optimum 48V energy storage system, and everything in-between.
