Regional Chemotherapy (RCT) allows for a concentrated exposure to the medication directly at the tumor site for more effective drug uptake. It helps to increase efficacy while minimizing side effects.”
— Prof. Karl R. Aigner
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, March 20, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Regional Chemotherapy (RCT) has helped many to fight their battles with cancer, often when the only other option was palliative care. In support of the #DAMAGECACNER Project, RCT patients with stage-four cancers, and their loved ones shared their stories on camera. This project is an ongoing initiative of Medias Health Inc.

TORONTO – There were six people in the studio on the day of the first filming. Three of them were fighting various stage-four cancers. The other three were their loved ones who came to show their support and to share their own stories.

Until very recently, these people did not know each other. Perhaps, they would have never met, if it were not for their cancers, or rather cancer treatment that brought them all together. All of them, at some point, were told that there was nothing else that could be done to treat their cancers, but palliative care. All of them did not take “No” for an answer and kept looking for alternatives. They all reached out to Medias Health and finally met at the clinic of Prof. Karl Aigner, where they elected to undergo Regional Chemotherapy (RCT) cancer treatment (www.regionalchemotherapy.com).

There are other common threads in their stories. One of them is that all three of them were offered one or another treatment at some point after being diagnosed with their respective cancers. All of them experienced unforeseen delays of those treatments, until they were told that it was too late, and no treatment was available.

As many others, they endured immense stress and emotional pain going through the red tape, while fighting for there lives. Unlike some others, they found new hope in Regional Chemotherapy treatment that was available only in a renown private clinic in Germany. Today, after undergoing RCT, their cancers stood back, and they are hopeful and fighting.

Regional Chemotherapy is not a cure for cancer by any means. It is a powerful therapy that can provide, at least temporarily, a relief. It allows to buy more time in hopes that new therapies will be available to help keep fighting to the victory.

Majority of the patients who make inquiries regarding RCT are those who have no longer other options left. They are people like our guests in the studio. Stage four metastatic cancer seems to be the most common denominator for those who resort to Regional Chemotherapy. Prof. Aigner and his medical team wish that they could have an opportunity to show how this therapy works on earlier stage cancers. Unfortunately, despite being around for decades, RCT is classified as an alternative treatment. Because of that status, it is not covered under healthcare plans of most major health insurance providers. Those who choose RCT have to pay out of their pockets, making this treatment accessible to even fewer candidates who could benefit from it.

Awareness of Regional Chemotherapy cancer treatment is growing. More cancer patients can learn about it and benefit from it, and, hopefully, more and more oncologists would recognize it as a viable alternative (www.regionalchemotherapy.com).
