SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - November 21, 2016) - HCA Far West Division has named Joseph A. DeSchryver as Chief Executive Officer of Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose. DeSchryver will assume responsibility of the 474-bed acute-care hospital on January 2, 2017.

DeSchryver is a trusted healthcare executive with 16 years of experience operating acute care hospitals and affiliated entities in California and Florida. He is recognized in the healthcare industry as a progressive strategist who drives market growth with a constant focus on improving the patient experience.

He joins HCA from the Tenet Healthcare Corporation where he served as Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo since 2013. He held the role of Chief Operating Officer from 2005-2013, during that time he opened the only Trauma Center in San Louis Obispo County.
