Gazprom Neft opens new sports facility in Yamal

A formal ceremony to mark the official opening of the new “Purovsky” swimming pool, built under the Gazprom Neft “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, has taken place in Tarko-Sale, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The Purovsky swimming pool is designed to provide swimming and water sports facilities for more than 1,000 local residents every day. The 2,800-square-metre facility includes a six-lane pool and a modern, fully-equipped gym. The facility is fully equipped and adapted to allow the disabled to take part in sporting activities.

Alexander Dybal, member of the Gazprom Neft management board, commented: “The Yamalo-Nenetsk Autonomous Okrug is a strategically important region in our company’s operations. The construction of modern civic infrastructure facilities is a key focus in Gazprom Neft’s CSR activities. The opening of the Purovsky pool marks the completion of the most comprehensive and modern complex — full equipped for today’s most popular sports — in the Russian Far North, here in Tarko-Sale.”

The Gazprom Neft “Home Towns” project brings together the Gazprom Neft Group of Companies’ various CSR initiatives throughout Russia’s regions. The programme is directed at improving the socio-economic potential of these regions as well as at improving quality of life, and includes projects in neighbourhood enhancement, the development of children’s and public sports facilities, initiatives in education and health, and the wider preservation of the culture of the indigenous populations of the Russian Far North.
