ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, November 15, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- After years of design and development, Studio Lorier has come up with the ultimate self-watering flowerpot: The Natural Balance. This pot works with a unique mechanism that slowly feeds the plant and lets you know when the plant needs water. For this project, Studio Lorier is currently running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

The Natural Balance is designed for people who are tired of watering plants on a daily basis, don’t know how much water a plant needs or for those who go on long vacations. The flowerpot is made from high quality ceramic and has an integrated water reservoir, which keeps the plant’s soil hydrated. The pot and the reservoir are divided by a water-permeable part, made from earthenware. This material lets water through gradually, only when the plant need it and prevents it from soaking the soil.

The reservoir is positioned on one side of the pot. When empty, the weight is no longer equally divided over the pot and The Natural Balance will tip over to let you know a refill is needed. Simply refill the reservoir and the flowerpot will return to its upright position. Studio Lorier designed it as an easy to use and analog solution that does not require any apps or electronics.

Plants like herbs, cactus’s or succulents with a maximum diameter 15 cm / 6 inch will fit The Natural Balance. The reservoir has a volume of 700 ml / 24 fl oz, this volume can nurture a plant for up to four weeks. To fit plants with different weights and shapes, the pivoting point is adjustable by a magnetic slider. The Natural Balance is made from high quality ceramic and available in variation of matte colors.

The design of the Natural Balance is finished, and now ready to be produced on a large scale. To get production running, Studio Lorier needs to upscale their operation and invest in a larger kiln, molds and materials. This is the reason for the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Backers of the campaign get early access at the lowest price, and will be the first to receive The Natural Balance.

Studio Lorier is a young design label based in Rotterdam, which makes exclusive design part of the daily life. Goal is to make interiors more surprising, diverse and easy to use. The designs are contemporary and natural, with a minimal use of materials, and without downgrading on the products functionality. All pieces are handmade in the workshop in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
