Furze Platt Senior School achieves Cyber Essentials certification with IT Governance’s DIY portal
ELY, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM, November 9, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- IT Governance, the leading provider of cyber security solutions and CREST-accredited certification body, has helped Furze Platt Senior School achieve certification to the UK Government-backed Cyber Essentials.
Alan Calder, the founder and executive chairman of IT Governance, said: “I am pleased to congratulate Furze Platt Senior School on successfully meeting the requirements of the Cyber Essentials scheme. The certification demonstrates that Furze Platt Senior School has taken a proactive approach to protecting its students’ personal data and achieving a basic level of cyber security.”
The Cyber Essentials scheme is designed to help organisations prevent “around 80% of cyber attacks” by implementing five key controls: secure configuration, boundary firewalls and Internet gateways, access controls and administrative privilege management, patch management, and malware protection.
Remus Tincu, IT manager of Furze Platt Senior School, said: “A few months ago, when we decided to apply for Cyber Essentials certification, we scanned the market for a suitable certification body. The portal provided by IT Governance is a useful tool for guiding companies towards achieving Cyber Certification. Their support team were easy to communicate with, external testing was scheduled in advance and our systems were not disrupted during testing. We found IT Governance to be professional, supportive, responsive and efficient during the certification process.”
To facilitate the certification process and provide assistance achieving certification to the Cyber Essentials scheme, IT Governance provides organisations with access to its CyberComply portal. The unique online service helps organisations of any size take control of their certification process, allowing them to achieve CREST-accredited Cyber Essentials certification using a ‘Do It Yourself’ approach.
The Maidenhead-based senior school achieved Cyber Essentials certification using IT Governance’s “Do It Yourself” packaged solution. This package gives organisations full control over their Cyber Essentials certification project, and includes the self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ), vulnerability scans and the certification service.
