Gazprom and Salavat Catalyst Plant agree on supplies of import-substituting adsorbent

October 4, 2016, 17:45

Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Alexey Mityushev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Salavat Catalyst Plant, today entered at the 6th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum into a long-term contract for the batch production and supply of import-substituting microporous silica gel adsorbent used for the simultaneous dehydration and stripping of natural gas during its treatment.

The contract was signed in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

The adsorbent has been fully developed in Russia. It will be produced at Salavat Catalyst Plant. The material is as good as its foreign equivalents and is even better in some parameters, which has been confirmed during a two-year testing period at one of Gazprom’s compressor stations.

According to the contract, Gazprom guarantees purchases of the adsorbent over several years at a price not exceeding the value of foreign equivalents, while the adsorbent producer, on its part, will carry out the necessary upgrading of capacities and launch the batch production of the material.

Background

In October 2015, Gazprom launched a new collaboration scheme for Russian manufacturers based on long-term contracts for the batch production, supply and maintenance of import-substituting products in the amount equal to guaranteed future purchases at a price not exceeding the value of foreign equivalents. Due to long-term contracts, suppliers have a predictable amount of orders, while Gazprom receives high-quality products at competitive prices.

Salavat Catalyst Plant is the fourth industrial company to sign a long-term contract with Gazprom. Similar contracts were concluded earlier with TMK, Tomsk Machine-Building Technologies, and Trubodetal (a subsidiary of United Metallurgical Company).
