/EINPresswire.com/ -- GETTYSBURG, PA--(Marketwired - October 05, 2016) - OPEN MINDS announced that Dr. Andrey Ostrovsky, newly announced Chief Medical Officer for The US Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) and Co-Founder of Care at Hand, and Craig Rhinehart, Director of Watson Health Innovation and Market Development at IBM, will deliver the keynote addresses at The 2016 OPEN MINDS Technology & Informatics Institute. This two-day executive education event will be held on November 10-11, 2016 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

This year's institute will have a special focus on tech-enabled clinical performance improvement. Many provider organizations are using data to improve their revenue cycle management, to manage productivity, and create other administrative efficiencies; but, the path to deploying data and emerging technologies to improve the access to, and outcomes of, clinical services is more difficult. This year, we'll be looking at the state of the art technologies that are enabling organizations to improve clinical performance. The 2016 OPEN MINDS Technology & Informatics Institute is about making technology work for your organization in the new era of value-based care.

Andrey Ostrovsky, M.D. will open the second day of the event with a keynote presentation focused on behavioral health system policy and the role that technology can play in improving system performance and decreasing the costs of care delivery. Dr. Ostrovsky was recently appointed as Chief Medical Officer for The US Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) where he will contribute to developing innovative policy initiatives to help states better serve Medicaid beneficiaries. Prior to being appointed to this position, Dr. Ostrovsky served as the senior vice president of medical affairs at Mindoula Health, a leading technology-enabled case management company, and chief executive officer of Care at Hand, a predictive insights software platform with a mission to ensure people can thrive in their homes and avoid unnecessary stays in hospitals. Dr. Ostrovsky is a physician and social entrepreneur supporting large-scale, sustainable achievement of the Triple Aim for vulnerable populations. In his new position with CMCS, he will be crossing over from tech innovator to policymaker -- using his experience in hospital readmissions reduction, health system redesign, and collaborative care, and his knowledge of the challenges of behavioral health population management to improve policy on a national level.

As previously announced, Craig Rhinehart will open this year's institute with his keynote presentation, "Cognitive Computing & Big Data: How They Will Shape The Future Of Care Coordination." Mr. Rhinehart has more than 30 years executive experience bringing innovative solutions to market in healthcare, government and other industries. He writes and speaks about corporate entrepreneurship, healthcare and innovation. In addition to the keynote presentations, this year's institute will have four tracks that will provide all the cutting-edge information your team needs to improve outcomes and decisionmaking through technology:

Track 1, Technology Strategy, is about building foundations for the organization's technology plan. All technology investments should be a derivative outgrowth of your organization's strategic plan and be grounded in the fundamental needs of the organization, their consumers, and their payers. This track focuses on best practice technology planning, budgeting, selection, and implementation - the essential components needed to compete in a value-based market.

Track 2, Technology Innovation, is focused on highlighting the range of emerging technology options available. From robots to smartphone apps, the technology is shaping the delivery of health care from every angle - but not all tech is a good fit for every organization, or every consumer. This track is designed to showcase the many cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of health care and to explore how organizations are using this new tech to gain the competitive advantage in their markets.

Track 3, Knowledge Partners, is designed to showcase the experiences of provider organizations from across the country. In partnership with some of the industry's most advanced technology vendors, this track will highlight how vendor and provider organization partnerships can help to position organizations for success in a value-based market through the use of information management and new technologies.

Track 4, Technology Demonstrations, is about evaluating the range of vendor offerings available to provider organizations. In this market, suppliers of technology are no longer just "vendors," but partners for the long term. This exciting track will allow executives to learn more about their options, ask questions, and find the technology partner that's a best fit.
