Europe and Eurasia: Secretary of State Kerry to Travel to Belgium


U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Brussels, Belgium, from October 4-5, 2016.

Secretary Kerry will lead the United States delegation at the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan. At the Conference, he will join representatives from over 70 other international donors to reaffirm our collective support for Afghanistan’s development and self-reliance.

He also will meet with Afghan President Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah to discuss our continuing support for Afghanistan and to encourage continued progress in economic development, good governance, anti-corruption, and human rights including women’s rights.

While in Brussels, the Secretary will deliver a speech on the transatlantic relationship on October 4 hosted by the German Marshall Fund.
