Hinson Middle School in Daytona Beach Florida received a welcome donation recently: A custom tarp to protect the school’s Bocce Court. The gift came from a far-away benefactor: Mike Dill, CEO of TarpsNow, based in Stevensville, Michigan. The Bocce Court is used in conjunction with the Special Olympics Unified Champions School project.

Linda Krenzler, ESE Teacher at the school explained, “When you live beachside in Daytona Beach, Florida, thunder storms are daily occurrences. As a result, the clay court is left with deep washouts and mushy clay. Partners and athletes are unable to practice. Depending on the amount of rain the team often had to wait till the clay dried out. Once it dried out if the repairs were not made correctly the clay which dried like concrete would be uneven and difficult to play on. This situation often led to frustration that dampened the highest spirits!”

Ms. Krenzler continued, “Thanks to great folks at Tarps Now, our court will be kept dry and intact. The team is excited to start the practicing for the next Bocce Ball competitions.”
