Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, today held at the Gazprom headquarters a conference call marking Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day.

The meeting was broadcast live to 66 companies of Gazprom Group.

The heads of Gazprom Dobycha Nadym, Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg, Gazprom Transgaz Nizhny Novgorod, and Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky made operational performance reports at the meeting.

Dear colleagues,

Let me wish you a happy Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day. Gas and oil workers perform important duties with a high degree of responsibility. The gas and oil sectors affect Russia's energy security to a large extent. We have a keen awareness in our daily work that Gazprom's operational and economic performance is strategically important for Russia's economy.

Together, we are expanding our geographic presence and creating new gas and oil production centers that will underpin the development of the national fuel and energy sector in the future decades. We are also laying new routes for hydrocarbon supplies. This year has been no exception. We have successfully put in operation the unique Arctic Gate oil loading terminal under challenging natural and climatic conditions. For the first time in the history of Russia's oil and gas industry, it has become possible to ensure year-round shipments of Yamal oil by sea. As a result, we are well down the path of developing a new oil production center in the region traditionally known for its gas reserves.

Gazprom is creating a powerful production and transportation infrastructure from scratch. Together, we are successfully implementing the Eastern Gas Program. At this moment, the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline is in full swing and the Chayandinskoye field is under development in Yakutia. That will give us a new and large export channel and will undoubtedly encourage economic growth and prosperity in eastern Russia.

Gazprom is dynamically evolving, gaining new experience, and adopting technological innovations. By executing complex projects in Yamal, on the Arctic shelf and in eastern Russia, the Company provides an impetus for a whole range of allied national industries and scientific fields to modernize and improve their technological capabilities.

With each passing year, the number of Russians enjoying the advantages of natural gas keeps growing. Indeed, such are the tangible results of Gazprom's large-scale projects for regional gasification and NGV market development. At the same time, we are meeting the growing demand for Russian gas among our foreign consumers and improving the trade mechanisms for gas, the most convenient and eco-friendly type of fuel.

We know perfectly well that our work is needed today and will be needed tomorrow. Every day, we put effort into providing people's homes with gas, electricity, and heat.
