In this role, Slater is tasked to provide her expertise in course development and assessment to oversee the Division's overall strategy to develop high quality curriculum.

Slater comes to UCI's DCE with more than 15 years of experience in higher education at Florida International University, Florida Gulf Coast University, the University of North Georgia, and among others. Additionally, Slater served four years as a K-12 instructional technology director at Del Valle Independent School District in Austin, Texas. Slater received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Stanford University and her Master of Arts degree in Education from San Diego State University.
