EMA Research Finds Mojo Networks has Lowest TCO, Best ROI as Market Trends Drive Down Costs and Increase Demand for Value

/EINPresswire.com/ -- MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - June 01, 2016) - Mojo Networks, the modern WiFi platform for delivering prolific connectivity, announced today that new research by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) found that Mojo has the lowest overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) when compared to other leading on-premises WiFi controllers and first generation cloud-managed WiFi providers. EMA surveyed the WiFi industry at large and determined that a number of trends are driving down WiFi costs and demand for value-based services. After a review of other solutions, Mojo prevailed as the most competitive solution on the market.

As cloud-managed solutions become more prevalent in WiFi, hardware costs are significantly decreasing and making wireless innovations like Wave 2 and high capacity networks more broadly available to the market. This is a welcome change in the industry as the emergence of IoT and connected devices (estimated to reach more than five billion devices this year alone) means that removing TCO as a bottleneck will be critical to supporting them.

EMA's findings on trends impacting TCO include:

  • The growth of open hardware designs shifting focus off of proprietary hardware innovations and onto improvement of cloud services and management tools.
  • Increased popularity of cloud-managed WiFi and controllerless architectures providing more hard savings for customers.
  • Lower hardware deployment and setup time, decreasing installation costs.
  • Fewer staff are required to manage networks since most have a single point of management in the cloud and include far fewer components.
  • The cloud more easily enables integrated services, reducing the need and additional cost of third party solutions for services like guest access, analytics, and wireless intrusion detection/prevention.
  • A single point of management centralizes data for improved analytics, performance, and the ability to act on insights quickly to benefit the business.

Mojo Networks is the first wireless vendor adopting all of these trends as a whole, and EMA found that Mojo's cloud-managed WiFi solution offered top-of-the-line performance with the lowest TCO across other players, with a cost gap of $500,000 on the low end, up to $17 million on the high end, when compared to on-premises WiFi controller solutions. A comparable cloud-managed WiFi solution was more than 26% more costly.

"The WiFi industry is experiencing a number of key shifts brought on by the increased demand for management flexibility, connectivity across devices and deployment environments," said David Monahan of EMA, and author of the report. "WiFi networks are becoming more efficient, cost-effective, and service-centric with cloud management, which will fuel further growth. Mojo's architecture is positively impacting the consumers' TCO and has enabled them to become the leading provider from an ROI perspective."

According to the report, between 2014 and 2015 global connectivity via mobility solutions grew 74 percent, and more than 560 million mobile devices and connections were added in 2015. In addition, in 2015, the number of mobile-connected tablets increased by 33% to 133 million devices. IoT will only propel the momentum, with various analysts estimating that connected devices will grow from five billion in 2016 to over 20 billion by 2020.

"Mojo Networks is in a unique position to capitalize on the trends that are impacting TCO for WiFi because we're a cloud-first company that knows how to maximize software value and we've pioneered a business model that offers the most cutting-edge access point hardware without costly markup," said Freddy Mangum, ‎Chief Marketing Officer at Mojo Networks. "This has allowed us to provide superior performance to our WiFi customers, at unheard-of pricing, that gives them access to the latest in wireless innovation and the flexibility to move as fast as the industry accelerates, with an architecture that scales."
