Cedar Falls author shares poignant approach to overcoming shadow of grief
Author CJ Hines offers a helping hand to readers suffering from grief in her inspiring book, “The River of Grief.”
In “The River of Grief,” Hines hopes to find an easy answer to grief. People die. It's inevitable. But, when someone dies, the person he or she left feels like they have died too. The trouble is that, the rest of the world doesn't share in their grief. They are still alive, and their lives have gone on normally.
“I wrote this book after losing my mother, who was my inspiration, my cheerleader, my best friend and my biggest fan. It took more than 10 years after her death before the book became a reality,” shares Hines, when asked about the inspiration behind her book.
“An inspiringly poignant read that offers some comfort and help to readers, letting them know they aren't alone, and that they can rely on God to help them,” states Trinity Tate-Edgerton, co-owner and Acquisitions Editor for Tate Publishing.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Hines is a former newspaper reporter and editor, working in the lifestyles/features department of a regional newspaper. She is a member of the Christian Writers Guild, and her Christian-focused articles have appeared in Lutheran Woman Today, Christ in Our Home, The Lookout, and Chicken Soup for the Soul: All in the Family. She and her husband, Randy, live in Iowa and have two married children and two grandchildren.
