Herpes Increases Risk of Developing Artherosclerosis; The CBCD Reviews the Medical Evidence
In a medical review, it was shown that the evidence supports an elevated risk of artherosclerosis associated with HSV-1 infection. (1)

A meta-analysis of the medical literature found that the risk of developing artherosclerosis (AS) is significantly increased by infection with the herpes simplex virus. Artherosclerosis is a hardening and narrowing of the arteries. According to Dr. Wu and colleagues, “as the major subtypes of herpesvirus, HSV-1 and HSV-2 have been a concern in relation to AS for many years … in the overall analysis, significant increased risk was observed for both HSV-1 and HSV-2 infection, indicating that HSV infection may play an important role in the process of atherogenesis (development of artherosclerosis).” (1)

WebMD notes that “Atherosclerosis is the usual cause of heart attacks, strokes, and peripheral vascular disease -- what together are called "cardiovascular disease." Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer in America, with more than 800,000 deaths in 2005.” (2)
The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals infected with the latent herpes virus (HSV-1 or HSV-2), realize the significant impact of the latent virus on their health, and not ignore it. Individuals can fight the latent virus and help their immune system by taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. These natural herpes remedies have a natural, antiviral formula that was shown to safely and effectively reduce Herpes symptoms, such as those mentioned above, in two separate post-marketing clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines.
The formula was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD. The studies showed that the Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR formula is effective against the herpes simplex virus, and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HSV … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (3) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (3)

Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses.
To date, Novirin and Gene-Eden-VIR are the only natural antiviral products on the market with published clinical studies that support their claims.
Note: The formula of Novirin is the same as the formula of Gene-Eden-VIR. The difference between the two is that Novirin contains higher quality, and more expensive, ingredients.
The CBCD reminds the public that Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are not a cure. However, two clinical studies, published in peer reviewed medical journals showed that their formula decreases symptoms in infected individuals. Specifically, the formula of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin was shown to safely and effectively reduce herpes symptoms. Additionally, it was designed to help the immune system target the latent virus.
People who develop artherosclerosis, and resulting heart disease, often experience the following symptoms: “angina, or chest pain. Angina can be described as a discomfort, heaviness, pressure, aching, burning, fullness, squeezing, or painful feeling in your chest. It can be mistaken for indigestion or heartburn. Angina may also be felt in the shoulders, arms, neck, throat, jaw, or back. Other symptoms of coronary artery disease include: shortness of breath, palpitations (irregular heart beats, or a "flip-flop" feeling in your chest) and a faster heartbeat.” (4) Other symptoms may include weakness or dizziness, nausea, and sweating.
What treatments are available for herpes infections?
“Two types of antiviral treatments against HSV are available: topical and oral. The treatments include penciclovir, acyclovir, famciclovir, and valaciclovir. However, their effectiveness is limited. For instance, a meta-analysis of five placebo-controlled and two dose comparison studies evaluated the effect of aciclovir, famciclovir or valaciclovir on symptoms. The meta-analysis showed that oral antiviral therapy decreases the duration and the associated pain of an outbreak by merely one day.” (3) There are also the natural supplements Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin, which have a formula that was designed to help the immune system target the herpes virus when it is in a latent form.
“We recommend that individuals who are infected with a latent herpes virus, take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD
