Gazprom Neft signs cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

Gazprom Neft has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprom Neft PJSC Alexander Dyukov were signatories to the document.

The agreement envisages both organisations cooperating in the development of Russia’s economic and trading relationships worldwide, in greater scientific and technical collaboration with other sovereign states, in attracting in-bound investment into the Russian economy, and in increasing exports of Russian goods and services. Under the terms of the agreement the Ministry will provide support to Gazprom Neft in the fulfilment of various projects directed at expanding economic, financial, scientific and technical cooperation with other countries. Gazprom Neft, in turn, will provide the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with business expertise, as appropriate.

Both parties also plan to share information, engage in mutual consultation, and to meet regularly on various business matters, including within the framework of the Business Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Gazprom Neft’s Chairman of the Management Board Alexander Dyukov commented: “Gazprom Neft is currently implementing a range of major international projects — including, for example, development of Serbian national oil company NIS, and hydrocarbon production in Iraq, as well as being involved in a joint venture in Venezuela. We continue to develop our cooperation with international partners in oil production and refining, and in the sale of crude and petroleum products, and are constantly considering opportunities to expand these activities. I am confident that the cooperation agreement concluded with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation will ensure the achievement of Gazprom Neft’s key strategic objectives, allowing the company to become a major Russian player on the global energy market, in the long term.”
