Minnesota Generated 21% of Its Electricity from Renewable Energy in 2015

The Minnesota Department of Commerce announced that in 2015, the state generated 21% of its electricity from renewable energy, up from only 6% a decade ago. Minnesota is on track to meet or exceed its Renewable Energy Standard of 25% by 2025. According to 2015 statistics compiled by the Minnesota Commerce Department and the U.S. Energy Information Administration, 17% of the state's electricity was generated by wind energy, compared to only 3% in 2005.
