/EINPresswire.com/ -- ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/29/16 -- Dotun Famakinwa has been promoted to the position of Transmission & Distribution practice manager for Burns & McDonnell's Atlanta regional office. Famakinwa succeeds Oko Buckle, who has been promoted to lead the Atlanta office. Famakinwa will oversee a group of about 50 engineers and technical professionals in Atlanta and Orlando, Fla., currently working on a number of large substation and overhead transmission line projects for utility clients.

Dotun Famakinwa has been promoted to lead the Burns & McDonnell T&D group in Atlanta.

"Dotun has been a key member of the T&D team in Atlanta as we have won larger and more complex projects for clients throughout the Southeast," said Buckle, principal and general manager of Burns & McDonnell's Southeastern operations. "He has grown and developed professionally in increasingly important roles and is the right man to take us to the next level of success."

Famakinwa joined Burns & McDonnell in 2009 as a senior electrical engineer and immediately was assigned to several large utility and industrial transmission projects. He was promoted in 2012 to Substation Department Manager in Atlanta and was named Associate for the firm in 2013. In addition to his roles as engineering design and department manager, Famakinwa has served as project manager for numerous utility and industrial clients throughout the Southeast. He received his Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1998 from North Dakota State University and earned a Master's degree in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas. He is a registered professional engineer licensed in five states.
