Sports Access returns for season four on AMI-tv

Media Advisory

TORONTO, Oct. 28, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that Sports Access, its show about accessible sport and recreation activities, is back for a fourth season.

Season four premieres on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. and will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. The new season is filled with adventure and inspiration as the Sports Access team heads to Prince Edward Island to try to reel in an 800 pound tuna, dabbles in archery, snowshoeing and endurance hiking, and even heads south of the border to check out some American programs for the blind and partially sighted community.

"We're delighted to have Sports Access back for a fourth season," says John Melville, VP of Programming and Production for AMI-tv. "The show truly provides Canadians of all abilities with the information and tools they need to get involved in their community through sport and recreation. If at the end of the day we've inspired someone to get out and try a new activity, we've been successful."

Hosted by Mark DeMontis, Sports Access is dedicated to exploring activities and topics relevant to all Canadians, but predominately those who are blind, partially sighted, or living with another disability. DeMontis is legally blind himself, having been diagnosed with a rare and degenerative eye condition at the age of 17, ending his dream of becoming a professional hockey player.

DeMontis is joined on the road by producer/reporter Rob Simpson and the rest of the Sports Access team. Simpson is a veteran sports broadcaster who currently hosts a hockey focused morning radio show. He has also produced special documentaries for the international humanitarian organization Right to Play, and can often be heard providing live description for Blue Jays games on AMI-tv.

Don't miss the fourth season of Sports Access, only on AMI-tv. Check your local listings to find the AMI channels in your area. Past seasons of Sports Access are available to watch online with the AMI-player.
