/EINPresswire.com/ -- GATINEAU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/27/15 -- The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that there will be a judicial recount of the votes in the electoral district of Montmagny-L'Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup (Quebec). Following validation of the results in the electoral district, the difference between the two leading candidates was 269 votes. A candidate requested the recount.

The recount will be conducted by a judge of the Superior Court in the District of Montmagny and will begin on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Riviere-du-Loup courthouse. The results of the recount will be published on the Elections Canada website after the recount is completed.
