Local authors, experts signed to release new historical book on Roosevelt Raceway.
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — Tate Publishing is proud to announce the upcoming release of Roosevelt Raceway: Where It All Began.
LONG ISLAND, NY, USA, October 11, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- "Where It All Began", written by local authors Billy Haughton, Freddie Hudson, and Victoria M. Howard.Roosevelt Raceway: Where It All Began is the story about the rise and fall of the Harness Racing Capital in the world: Roosevelt Raceway. Based on the life of Roosevelt Raceway founder George Morton Levy, the book explores the beginnings of Roosevelt Raceway: nighttime harness racing, the numerous world records that were set, and the crooked politicians who tried to bring this legacy down! In addition to Levy’s involvement with the Raceway history, the book also features Levy’s history as a famous lawyer who represented many colorful characters, such as "Lucky" Luciano, Frank Costello, and Frank Erickson.
The three authors who are avid harness racing fans, were inspired to bring back those irreplaceable times that took place at Roosevelt Raceway-- even if only on paper, as it is the FIRST and ONLY book written about Roosevelt Raceway. It is long overdue and anxiously anticipated by not only harness racing fans, but by millions of people who live on Long Island and the surrounding New York/Metropolitan area.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its December release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
