PARADISE, Tex. — Tate Publishing announces the signing of local author Patricia Bourke and her soon-to-be-published children’s book The Puppy Named Bear.
PARADISE, TX, USA, October 11, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Puppy Named Bear is a story about a lonely boy and a puppy that goes on a scary adventure, which was inspired by Mark Twain’s stories.Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Bourke is the second of six children. She lived in a small town in Lockport, Ill, and went to a small country school called Homer Township. Growing up, Bourke jokes that “the only thing around was corn fields.” With no friends nearby, Bourke began writing stories and drawing to keep herself entertained. She soon found out that her teacher thought she was good at it. She uses country living and her loves for her pets and the outdoors to inspire her writing.
Bourke is a graduate from Lockport Central in Ill. She raised three sons as an only parent; and owned and operated her own salon in Joliet, Ill. In 1997, she sold everything and moved to Tex. She is now married and retired. She is an accomplished artist as her hobby, and above all enjoys spending time with her family.
