IT Governance has announced that the company has become a CREST-accredited certification body of the newly released UK Government Cyber Essentials Scheme (CES).

The Cyber Essential Scheme was officially announced by the UK Government on 5 June 2014, following public consultations and pilot assessments. The scheme is part of the UK Government’s national Cyber Security Strategy and provides a baseline for implementing essential cyber security controls. Organisations that successfully meet the scheme’s assessment requirements will be able to display the scheme’s badge.
According to an announcement published on www.gov.uk, from 1 October 2014, the government will require certain suppliers bidding for certain contracts which are assessed as higher risk to be Cyber Essentials certified.
