Filmmaking Trio to Unveil a 'Perception' on Steroid Abuse in Character Study Psychological Thriller

"Perception" is an art-house film in the vein of "Black Swan," "Requiem for a Dream" and "The Wrestler" with a big "Fight Club" reveal.

LOS ANGELES, USA, February 5, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Christopher Levine, Cameron Barsanti and Landon Williams are announcing the forthcoming drama feature film, "Perception," now in pre-production. Filming is slated to begin March 1 in Los Angeles and Riverside counties.

The script was written by Levine ("The Blind Date"), Barsanti ("Misogynist") and Williams ("SuperZero"). The story follows a young man who battles self-image issues by making and shooting steroids and ends up losing everything, including himself.

"Steroids are not going away, neither is self perception," Levine says. "This is a fact based, character driven story about a relatable guy who decides to take steroids. The moral value of this film is extremely relevant and has never been done."

Williams, a prolific director known for his work on "SuperZero" and "The Last Resort" will make his feature film directorial debut with "Perception." Using a new visual style in cinema known as High Dynamic Range Motion Picture(HDRMP), Williams is excited to implement his patented technology on "Perception."

"The difference between truth and belief is Perception," Williams said.

Levine and Barsanti are producing and starring in the film. Levine plays Adam, the embattled protagonist, and Barsanti plays the comedic supporting role of Ethan.

Levine said, "Body image is a major topic in our culture, from steroid abuse in sports to plastic surgery to the newest diet fads. This film hits on all of these societal issues from a man’s perspective.”

Levine has appeared in ABC's "Charlie's Angels," "One Family," "The Test" and others. He directed, produced and wrote "T is for Thigh, and is producing and acting in "Blood Lust," currently filming.

Barsanti has appeared on ABC's "Scandal", recurred in HBO’s "True Blood" and has been in several independent features including, "Misogynist" and "The House that Jack Built."

The film is eyeing a 2015 Sundance premiere and worldwide distribution thereafter.
