Private money lenders to hold 2014 Educational Conference and 60th Anniversary Celebration in Universal City, January 30-31

In addition, CMA will hold its 60th Anniversary Celebration, acknowledging the accomplishments of 60 years of private money lending trade associations in California. Speakers will feature some of the key players in California Private Money Lending.
Certain educational sessions will focus on business and practices in private money lending, such as:
• The 2014 forecast on California real estate trends, by Bruce Norris, The Norris Group
• Underwriting single-purpose commercial loans
• Third-party originations: Funding loans brought in by outside mortgage brokers and originators
• Identity fraud prevention, featuring latest developments in I.D. fraud
• Title Insurance: An in-depth review of the loan broker or lender’s role in the title insurance
process, along with updates on title coverage challenges and limitations (this session open
to CMA Members only)
Other sessions will focus on present and pending legal and regulatory issues, including:
• The California Mortgage Association Annual Legal and Regulatory Update, including an analysis of
recent legal and regulatory changes, and practical methods for compliance
• A California legislative update, from CMA’s Legislative Committee
• An update on new laws/requirements in origination and loan servicing under Dodd Frank, and
compliance with new regulations of the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ) (this
session open to CMA Members only)
