Last Few Places Available for Aberdeen Breakfast Briefing on Onshore Gas
With growing public interest in the potential of onshore gas in the UK’s energy mix, Oil & Gas UK has invited two top business leaders to speak on the topic at its forthcoming breakfast briefing this Friday. Places are still available at the event, entitled, “The Truth Behind Onshore Oil and Gas”, which takes place at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on Friday, November 1 at 7am.
Ken Cronin of the United Kingdom Onshore Operators Group and Andrew Austin, Chief Executive Officer of IGas Energy Plc, will outline the opportunities presented by the nation’s onshore oil and gas resources and the industry’s plans to develop these in line with the Government’s environmental and health and safety regulations. Following their presentations, they will be joined by Rob Hull, Halliburton’s Technology Manager for Europe and Sub-Sahara Africa, in a panel session chaired by Oil & Gas UK’s Energy Policy Manager, Marshall Hall.
While offshore oil and gas have for decades provided the bulk of the UK’s energy in a manner affordable to consumers and businesses, onshore sources including shale gas have the potential to play an important role in the country’s future energy security, reducing the need to import these fuels as well as reducing atmospheric missions .
Friday’s breakfast briefing will provide a valuable opportunity for delegates to consider the economic, operational, health and safety and environmental attributes of onshore oil and gas in an open and balanced forum as the debate regarding the development of the se resources continues. Places at the breakfast can be booked online here.
