/EINPresswire.com/ Suzana Stankovic's profound and unsettling solo work,Blood/Nectar/Glitter, chronicling her journey from girl to woman, takes the stage at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in New York City's Times Square, February 21st & 22nd, 2013

Actress, Dancer, Suzana Stankovic to perform self-created, confessional work, Blood/Nectar/Glitter, as part of Manhattan Repertory Theatre's February Event of Cutting-Edge Theatrical Adventures in Times Square, NY on February 21st and 22nd, 2013.

"In Blood/Nectar/Glitter, I chronicle my journey from girl to woman before your very eyes, journeying from prepubescent body shame, fear and crisis to liberation and power. Blood is for loss and birth. Nectar is for lust and sex. Glitter is for desire and fantasy." - Suzana Stankovic

A solo work that bares body and soul in equal measure, Blood/Nectar/Glitter thrives and relies on the intimacy and electricity between the artist and the audience. "This piece must be performed in an intimate space because it's an all-or-nothing work. I'm on edge the whole time and it's very private and intense. I need the energy from the audience."

Exploring identity, loss of childhood and the female body as temple, weapon and fertile ground, Blood/Nectar/Glitter has not a wasted moment, speaking the artist's truth without reservation. Blood/Nectar/Glitter opens with the traumatic onset of menstruation, the harrowing divide between girl and woman and pushes through a private crisis and ultimate metamorphosis-- dramatic, stark, provocative, deeply emotional and fearless, it is a dance-theatre work not for the faint of heart and is a perfect fit for Manhattan Repertory Theatre's daring February Event.

Founded by Ken Wolf and Jennifer Pierro in 2005, Manhattan Rep has produced over 900 plays and more than 10,000 theatre artists have participated. Manhattan Rep is committed to the artist, to creating a context of creativity and support in a clean and professional environment.
