Penn National Unit To Develop, Manage Casino Project
April 14, 2010 (FinancialWire) – Penn National Gaming Inc. (NASDAQ: PENN) said that one of its subsidiaries has been selected by Mason-Dixon Resort & Casino to develop and manage all resort and gaming operations in connection with the company's Category 3 resort license application filed with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Mason-Dixon plans to develop a Category 3 venue in southern Adams County, about two miles from the Maryland border.
The planned $75 million Mason-Dixon Resort & Casino will feature a hotel with more than 300 guest rooms, 20,000 square feet of meeting and exposition space, and parking. The casino will include 600 slot machines, table games, live entertainment, restaurants and other resort amenities.
Penn National Gaming said it has committed to provide the financing needed for the development, construction and opening of the project. It said this would enable the project, upon licensing, to begin the renovation process immediately.
Pennsylvania-based Penn National Gaming owns and operates gaming and racing facilities with a focus on slot machine entertainment. The company presently operates 19 facilities in 15 jurisdictions, including Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ontario.
