NOIDA, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA, November 8, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- An introduction to the FDI facilitator in India• An insight into promotion and facilitation practices:
The promotion as well as facilitation of the investment along with a predominant strategy can help improve the investment environment of a country. In addition to this, the promotion and facilitation of investment can also help enhance the domestic as well as foreign investment and also helps increase the contribution to the national economic development. However, for a successful promotion of investments, a careful calculation of the way in which the resources need to be employed in the most effective manner is needed along with the way in which these activities need to be organised so as to promote activities within the government such that there is an improvement in the investment climate and the goal of the economic development remains on priority.
To incorporate all the internal best practices into the investment promotion activities, numerous promotion tools already exist such as the ones that have been provided by the United Nations or the World Bank which throws light on the aspects related to the promotion of the investment. On a broader level, the nine questions to which the Investment Promotion and Facilitation can relate to include investment promotion agency, monitoring the performance of the investment promotion agency, the environment and investment promotion of the business, streamlining of administrative procedures, dialogue mechanisms of the investment promotion agency, cost and benefits of the investment incentives, promotion of the investment linkages, information related to the international expertise and the information exchange networks that persist currently.

An insight into the FDI world
• An insight into Foreign Direct Investment:
FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) is the investment that is done by a person or an entity residing in one country into a business which is set up in another country to establish a lasting interest.
• What is lasting interest and the element of control?
In the FDI world, the investment that is done in a foreign company is considered to be an FDI only if it is able to establish a lasting interest. This lasting interest is nothing but the investor obtaining a minimum of 10% voting power in the firm.
Element of control forms the foundation of the foreign direct investment since it puts across the simple intent of actively managing as well as influencing the operations of a foreign firm. Element of control also forms the difference between the foreign direct investment and a foreign portfolio investment.
• What are the methods that one can undertake for foreign direct investment?
There are numerous ways in which foreign direct investment can be made including-
i) By acquiring the voting stock in the company that is being invested in
ii) Joint ventures
iii) By forming mergers and acquisitions with the foreign company
iv) By starting the domestic firm’s subsidiary in another foreign country
• Advantages of foreign direct investment
This form of investment is preferred due to the number of benefits that it offers to both the investor as well as the foreign country being invested in. Due to the incentives that it offers, there has been a significant increase in the parties engaging in FDI. Some of these benefits include tax incentives, preferential tariffs, subsidies, low labour costs, and diversification of market.
