"Sparkling Castle of the Future” Float Rolls Again in 9NEWS Parade of Lights
Independent Electrical Contractors Float Celebrates Apprentice Electricians’ Skills
DENVER, COLORADO, USA, November 26, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- DENVER, CO November 26 -- IECRM will once again repeat its performance in the 44th Annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights this holiday season with the Sparkling Ice Castle of the Future2 Float that will include a few updates to the LED technology and an added new touch or two. Last year’s design and build team, comprised of electricians and apprentices at IECRM, are engaged in sprucing up and preparing the float that highlights new, state-of-the-art lighting features heralding lighting of the future.
“Our participation this year includes the float in the parade both nights, 30 walkers from the IECRM community each night surrounding the float, and our Annual Holiday Party,” says Mary Beth Armbruster, IECRM Director of Operations and Member Services. The float rolls in the parade this Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.
The history of the IECRM Sparkling Ice Castle Float: IECRM members and students designed and built the Sparkling Ice Castle of the Future Float in 2017 as the newest addition to the 9NEWS Parade of Lights in more than 20 years. IECRM’s float celebrates the hard work of the men and women in the electrical and renewable energy industry, illuminates the importance of skilled trade workers to our economy and communities, and shines the light on skilled trades as a viable and sustainable career path for our future generations.
“IECRM apprentices3 and members are very excited to have the unique opportunity to show off their skills in a creative way with this float,” continued Armbruster. “Who better than an electrical trade association and an electrical trade school to come up with a bright idea and bring it to fruition to illuminate the wintery streets of Denver for the parade?”
A volunteer team comprised of electricians, apprentices, and industry professionals built the float using state of the art lighting features provided by IECRM’s industry partners. “We hope that our float project captures the attention of many men, women, minorities and military veterans who are looking for a rewarding career,” says IECRM Training Director Paul Lingo. “It’s a really great way for us to portray a career in electrical contracting and renewable energy in a fun and imaginative way.”
