Tuvin has been appointed to the B-Local Mid Atlantic board of directors and will be their treasurer. “Eddie has been recognized as a leader and expert in the area of small/mid-size business finance for over two decades,” said George Chmael, Chair of B-Local Mid Atlantic and Founder + CEO of Council Fire. “Since 1977 when he first commenced his work as a community activist to his expert testimony before the Senate Committee on Small Business & Finance, Eddie has been taking a stand to promote equality, diversity, and fair lending, all while promoting the art of doing good with business, which makes him a great addition to our board of like-minded, mindful directors”.
Eddie is a keynote speaker on subjects related to business ethics, conscientious capitalism, reputational damage control, diversity, ethics, and inclusion. He has conducted several notable interviews with recognized business leaders including David Rubenstein the founder of Carlyle Group and billionaire philanthropist and Dr. Christina Romer the former chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors. He is a social media influencer with over 40 years of leadership experience at world-class global companies. He is a devoted leadership practitioner whose four-decade career has been defined by a commitment to studying, practicing, improving, and teaching the tenets of leadership that works. Eddie's career has been focused on helping build world-class organizations that defy the critics and thrive in the face of adversity. A recognized expert on small business finance, in 2009, he co-authored “Recommendations for Improving Small Business Credit Access and Financial Reform” which was published by the National Federation of Independent Business Research Foundation and presented, amongst other places, to the Obama Administration in the White House.
The US Small Business Administration recognized Tuvin’s achievements by presenting him with three of their highest DC area awards. In 2009, he was awarded the SBA DC ARC Loan Lender of the Year Award and in 2010 he was awarded Community Bank Rural Lender of the Year for the Metro DC area. Last year, he was presented with the 2011 SBA DC Financial Services Champion of the Year award.
