Angola: Head of State declares his personal assets
The Attorney General's Office (PGR) has also confirmed the declarations from the incumbents of ministerial departments and other officials in government positions.
Hélder Pitta Grós was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the swearing in ceremony of the new members of the Board of Directors of the Sovereign Fund of Angola, the Financial Information Unit, the non-executive directors of Sonangol and staff of the President's Office.
According to the Attorney General, the Public Prosecutor's Office is busy informing the public office holders to submitting their declarations of personal assets.
The Law on Public Probity, approved on March 29, 2010, is a diploma that reinforces mechanisms to combat the culture of corruption.
The objective is to ensure the prestige of the State and its institutions.
The Law reflects the will and the effort of the Angolan State to instill moral standards of exercise of the public functions and fight against corruption.
It is a deontological norm if fully observed will allow no ground for corruption in the country, said Public Prosecutor Mota Liz, during a lecture on the diploma, held in November 2011.
