CCHR Florida Holds Open House for January Mental Wellness Month to Educate on Dangerous Psychiatric Abuses
During January the Citizens Commission on Human Rights will hold an open house at their center in Clearwater, Florida in recognition of Mental Wellness Month.
Located at 109 N. Fort Harrison Avenue in downtown Clearwater, CCHR’s center has an ideal setup for helping the public learn the truth about psychiatric abuses. As the only non-profit mental health watch-dog in existence, CCHR works to expose human rights violations in the field of mental health as well as protect the safety of children. With multiple displays on site complete with videos and informational panels, visitors can walk through the exhibit and learn about everything from the history of psychiatric abuse to the illegal over-drugging of children3 and countless mental health law violations.
The focus of the open house is to share the little-known — but widely documented — dangerous side effects of commonly-prescribed psychiatric treatments. With 8 million children in the U.S. alone on psy-chiatric drugs, and many drugs prescribed from mental health professionals’ offices contributive of sui-cidal ideation and violence, the open house will shed light on exactly what these drugs are and why they’re prescribed to everyone from infants1 all the way up to the aging elderly.
“It is important for the general public to know the full truth about psychiatry and psychiatric treatments,” said Diane Stein, President of CCHR Florida. “Only once fully informed can a person be ex-pected to make the right decisions regarding their mental health.”
Moreover, barbaric treatments — often considered distant in the past – such as ECT2 (electroconvulsive therapy) are not only still in use today, but recently have been pushed by psychiatrists to be used more2, especially with regard to children and others with misdiagnosed illnesses. The open house will show how psychiatry both misdiagnoses hundreds if not thousands of common mental health illnesses and seeks to instead increase personal profits by prescribing life-threatening drugs.

About CCHR: Initially established by the Church of Scientology and renowned psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz in 1969, CCHR’s mission is to eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health and enact patient and consumer protections. It was L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, who brought the terror of psychiatric imprisonment to the notice of the world. In March 1969, he said, “Thousands and thousands are seized without process of law, every week, over the ‘free world’ tortured, castrated, killed. All in the name of ‘mental health.’” For more information please visit www.cchrflorida.org
