Equatorial Guinea Sprints To UNSC With Humility
Our country's candidacy for UNSC is synonymous with H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, vision for Unity, Peace and Justice - Victor Mooney.
With deep humility, H.E. Salomón Nfa Ndong conveyed that Sustainable Peace for Sustainable Development is directly proportional to the ambitions with which the Government has been working with its population in particular. Equatorial Guinea is arriving in a foreign setting with humanitarian actions in favor of peace, such as support for the cause of the fight against Ebola which affected brother countries such as Liberia, Guinea Conakry, and Sierra Leone; together with the organization of high-level events in order to promote peace at a sub-regional and global level.
In closing remarks, H.E. Salomón Nfa Ndong said, vote for Equatorial Guinea, vote for Cote d'Ivoire. Equatorial Guinea was represented by H.E. Anatolio2 Ndong Mba, the Ambassador Permanent Representative before the United Nations, H.E. Victoriana Mbasogo Mangue, Deputy Ambassador along with a high-level delegation traveling with Nfa Ndong.
Remarks were given from H.E. Ambassador Tete Antonio, Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations; H.E. Mamadi Toure, Permanent Representative of Guinea to the United Nations, Representative of the Chair of the African Group; a Representative from the President of the UN General Assembly; Dr. Tageldin Ibrahim Hamad, Chairman, World Association of Non Governmental Organizations (WANGO) and UPF Main Representative to ECOSOC; Madam Elise Andrianarivelo, President of the United Nations African Ambassadors Spouses Group – UNAASG and the spouse of the Permanent Representative of Madagascar to the United Nations; H.E. Mr. Marcel Amon Tanooh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cote d'Ivoire and Country Candidacy for the Non Permanent Seat of the United Nations Security Council.
H.E. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary General for the United Nations attended this year's festivities. During public remarks, the Deputy Secretary General said - let's celebrate and work together in solving Africa's challenges. The Africa Day guests were feted with traditional African dishes. This array of cuisines were spearheaded by the United Nations African Ambassadors Spouses Group. Equatorial Guinea served salted fish with eggplant, boiled plantain, baked fish with potato and bunuelos.
