Arms Control and International Security: Ministerial Level Joint Commission Meeting
The following is on the record from John Kirby, Spokesperson:
Secretary Kerry led the U.S. delegation at today's ministerial meeting of the Joint Commission, which was established to monitor implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) to ensure that Iran’s nuclear program remains exclusively for civilian purposes. All of the JCPOA participants—the P5+1, the EU and Iran—attended the session.
At this fifth meeting of the Joint Commission, participants discussed the ongoing implementation of the JCPOA. Secretary Kerry made clear that the United States is continuing to meet all of its JCPOA commitments and called on all parties to do the same. Secretary of Energy Ernest J. Moniz joined the meeting as well.
