Capacity at the Gazprom Neft Badra field central processing facility increases to 115,000 barrels per day
Construction of a third production line (С) has now been completed at the central oil treatment facility at the Badra field, Iraq, operator of which is Gazprom Neft, increasing potential capacity for oil processing to the projected level of 115,000 barrels per day. Line C is currently used as a reserve facility to minimise production losses in the event of existing facilities being interrupted for repair. Commercial operation of Line C will begin following construction of all production wells envisaged under field development.
Thanks to three new wells having commenced operation at the Badra field in June 2016 record production volumes are likely to be achieved this year at approximately 250,000 tonnes (64,000 barrels per day). Commissioning of a 10th production well is expected in August 2016.
As at early June 2016 total production since the development of the Badra field stands at 2.6 million tonnes of oil (19 million barrels), with 0.9 million tonnes (6.5 million barrels) having been produced since the start of this year.
