Serbia Now Set to Join EU within 3 Years

Although Serbia officially submitted its application to join the EU in 2008, until now its attempt to join has been hindered by several requests from the 27 member organization. These requests include Serbia's full cooperation on the extradition of accused war criminals and the strengthening of its democratic institutions and rule of law.

With the recent arrest and extradition to The Hague of wanted war criminal Ratko Mladic along with its open cooperation in tracking down other suspected war criminals, Serbia has shown that it is indeed a viable candidate that can abide by the many EU requirements for membership says Igor Purlantov. With the additional arrest and extradition of suspected war criminal Goran Hadzic, Serbia has further reinforced its position as a viable candidate for membership according to Mr. Purlantov.

Further strengthening Serbia's case for membership into the economic and political organization is the fact that the Balkan Tiger, which has averaged 6.6% GDP growth during the past three years, is one of the strongest economies in the region. Buoyed by its young and educated work force, the Serbian economy has managed to steam ahead in spite of recent unemployment hovering around 14%. According to Mr. Purlantov this bodes particularly well for Serbia in its quest to the join the European Union particularly when looking at fellow Balkan nation and EU member Greece.

The ability of Serbia to cooperate with the European Union has already provided some recent benefits. Since late 2010 Serbians have enjoyed visa free travel to the Schengen area which includes most of the European Union. This has brought about several positive impacts for the country which will be further bolstered with its admittance into the EU, including increased foreign direct investment and tourism. It is now just a matter of time before Serbia will join the European Union and achieve its full economic and political potential according to Mr. Purlantov. It is argued that the exclusions which feature in the current legislation would never have been tolerated if they were directed at those with physical health problems. 360 diversity is involved with promoting equality and diversity, they are hopeful of a revision of this legislation in order to bring it in line with the Equality Act 2010.

The second reading is due to take place on 25th November 2011 where the Bill will be debated fully, with regards to discrimination against people on the basis of their mental health.

360 diversity fears that sexist remarks made by the UK's Prime Minister shows not only a disrespect to women but also a disregard for the Equality Act 2010. Despite the introduction of this Act last year, it is apparent that the mindset of some people can take time to change. These inappropriate comments combined with tax cuts, which have affected women in particular, means the coalition government has a lot of work to do to win back the support of female voters.

The Prime Minister has made controversial off-the-cuff remarks, more recently acknowledging the fact that he knew one of his back-benchers, Nadine Dorries, must be "extremely frustrated". Despite being a light-hearted remark, this is not the kind of comment expected from a Prime Minister and goes nowhere in promoting anti-discriminatory practice. David Cameron has held his hands up and made an apology for this inappropriate comment, along with another he made a while ago when he told Labour MP Angela Eagle, to "calm down, dear" amidst a debate.

The Equality Act was brought about to help companies manage equality and diversity in the workplace and promote equal opportunities for all in work and in society. Its purpose is to eradicate unfair treatment of people based on protected characteristics. Do the comments made by the Prime Minister belittling women show a disregard for this act?

Stuart Bray continues "It is a tough time for everyone at the moment, women have been hit the hardest by the cuts, and Mr Cameron needs to be mindful that speaking without thinking will influence the voters' minds, and perhaps another female Prime Minister may be on the cards at the next general election."

It would seem that a better example could be set by those passing the laws to encourage companies across the UK to each implement and monitor an effective equality and diversity policy. In this way, awareness of the protected characteristics would be heightened and prejudiced and discrimination reduced.

The animals are shown exiting from a 'pitch black' slightly angled opening in the Ark's side. Noah's Ark was built of gopher wood and sealed inside and out with black pitch. Genesis 6:11, 6:16.
The centerpiece of this 'Off the Ark' mural is the honored 'Horse of the Niche' - revered in a chapel-like enclosure for good reason. So they come to the peace table while all along their brains/minds are powered by the attributes of ignorance - hate and the desire for revenge etc. When the fruit from the tree of ignorance thrive they choke the fruit of the wisdom tree and the wisdom tree does not even bloom.

"Even though we both love each other too much for our own selfish reasons; love can only produce results it is capable of. Love can only produce peace!"

Lets take the conflict in the Middle East. Both sides are desperate for peace. They are trying for hundreds of years to produce peace which is an attribute of wisdom. They are trying to produce peace (fruit) without cultivating the fruit producing tree (wisdom)! They can keep trying to produce peace for another 1000 years but unless they create the environment to produce the wisdom tree they will not and can never produce peace. It is the very nature of peace that it exists only on the wisdom tree. So they come to the peace table while all along their brains/minds are powered by the attributes of ignorance - hate and the desire for revenge etc. When the fruit from the tree of ignorance thrive they choke the fruit of the wisdom tree and it does not even bloom. (Someone must awaken both sides to the very nature of peace!). Peace is an all or nothing entity, it only comes in the wisdom package.

There are three ways to achieving peace:

1) Both sides have a change of 'heart' (brain) and this is possible. (This is the best way for permanent peace)

2) Both warring factions find out the wisdom way and stick to implementing it.

3) Or a stronger power enforces the wisdom way.

Here is a parable of peace.

Once upon a time there were two people living on the same land. Their Patriarch was the same. They both coveted the same real estate as their holy ground. So they fought for hundreds of years. The time came when the whole world got affected by their dispute and they both got tired of fighting. So they started peace talks which lasted for decades. Governments came and went and the peace talks went on and on and yet they remained far apart.

In both the groups there lived a wise man, each very popular in his own group. Their actions had brought great prosperity for their own people and even affected the other side. The elders having tried all kinds of leaders finally went to their respective wise man and asked him to do something. They both agreed to negotiate peace on the condition that their agreement be honored and implemented. They both had opening statements before going in to the peace room. One of the wise man said to the other, "Your people have done so much harm to my people that you people deserve to be hated! Yet I could never do that because hate is a gang leader. It would never come into my mind alone. Hate would bring with it jealousy, fear, anger, guilt, confusion, tiredness and ill health etc. Harming me more than it would ever harm you. As when the whole ugly hate-gang settles in; it leaves less room for math and science. Also it would result in shifting my focus from our own progress to how to destroy you thus diverting valuable resources etc. etc. So for my own sake I have always loved you! The other wise man replied, "Your people have been the scum of the earth for my people yet I have always loved you! For love is a gang leader too. It does not come into the mind alone. It brings happiness, confidence, pleasure, relaxation, health, calmness etc. into the mind. Thus making the mind more powerful for math and science. So I have always loved you for my own sake. This has brought health, happiness and even prosperity for me and my family. "

After these statements they went into the room alone. After two hours they both emerged from the room. They had a peace treaty which was a few pages long. Every one cheered. They were asked how they could work out a peace agreement in two hours where it was not possible for hundreds of years. One of the wise men read a statement that both had jointly written. "We know this question will be asked... Well we went into the room with the right tools for fixing peace. Suppose war is iron and peace is gold and your aim is to both exchange gold; you both have to go into the room with gold. If we both go into the room with iron, or if even one goes into the room with iron then there is no way, not in a 1000 years that we can come out with a peace treaty. If we went into the room with iron then all we can come out with is the effects of iron. There is no trick in the world that can change iron into gold. We both went into the room with gold only. Even if we had tried to exchange iron we couldn't do it because we did not have the tools to produce iron.

With the peace treaty every thing was up and up from GDP to Gross National Happiness for both countries.

What can a thousand dollars get you these days? How about the production of a feature length motion picture!

Philadelphia Area College students pour out their talents to bring "The Tea Man" movie to a boil!

"The Tea Man" is a quick paced story set near the end of the Cold War when cell phones were car phones and any respectable bank robber still used a big gun. Two life-long mid-life crisis friends decide to rob banks and with the help of an "old head" who had 25 years in prison to think about how to get it right, what could possibly go wrong?

Philadelphia Real Estate Broker and Ex-Marine Joe Carlin found a unique way to get through a down market. He made a movie!

Carlin, 50, said after countless attempts at trying to get his work looked at he decided to do it himself and with the help of some of the most creative minds in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area he was able to bring his story to life. He took a class in January 2010 at the historic Walnut Street Theater and it steam-rolled from there. Several of his classmates also appear in the film.

"I had students contributing their talents from all over the Philadelphia Area, to name a few:

"It all starts with a great story and "The Tea Man" turned into an exceptional script. Believe it or not I found mostly everyone off a craig's list ad. Everyone who read it was down with it and from that point on it was coordination and communication. Keeping those lines open and running parallel to each other throughout the process made this movie happen in seven months! My outlay of cash was for props and lunches and the total for the entire project came in just under one thousand dollars."

The soundtrack was put together with contributions from London 's Own International Recording Artist Roy Todd, National Recording Artist Andrew Neu and Philadelphia Recording Artists Frenz and Michael "Chet" Beck.

"Other roles were filled by: a lawyer, a professional hair stylist, a waiter, a teacher, a real estate salesperson and his broker, a home health care provider, a child day care provider, a masseuse, a casino worker and even a federal parolee was given a part. Even my former business partner Chiu Cheng of Ken Shin Diner on the corner of 3rd & Spring Garden Street not only had a part in the film but was an official site supporter! Like I said, all the excitement begins with a great story."

"Once I put my foot down and said "this is going to happen" there was nothing getting in my way. I worked around everyone's schedule, nights and almost every weekend. I overcame obstacle after obstacle to get this done and the final product was edited by one of the brightest young minds in the industry today, Brian Keenan, Drexel University ."

Although unrated by the Motion Picture Academy, this movie would definitely carry an "R" Rating due to language and some violence.

Tarnas said the years 2007 - 2020 would likely bring a new infusion of the cultural impulses and archetypal dynamics that emerged during the 1960s, which is the last time these planetary energies were in major alignment.

He points out that archetypal Uranus represents the principle of change, freedom, rebellion and revolution and is associated with unexpected phenomena of all kinds. Pluto, recently reduced by astronomers to dwarf planet status, is in fact a celestial heavyweight and the archetype for power itself.

"Pluto is the archetype of primordial energy and the universal life force that impels all evolution and transformation. It compels, empowers, overwhelms, transforms, destroys and resurrects. And, at its deepest level, it involves the mystery of death and rebirth," he explained.

Tarnas points out that characteristic themes observed for this cycle in past centuries include heightened impulses for radical social change and cultural creativity, accelerated technological and scientific advancement, the empowerment of progressive and reformist political movements, intensified feminist, civil rights and countercultural activity, an increased drive for freedom and autonomy at both the individual and collective level, and pressure towards radicalization in many spheres of action and ideas.

Also identified with the cycle is intensified ecological activism, large demographic shifts and the activation of mass energies and mass movements of various kinds.

"Generally speaking, Uranus-Pluto eras have tended to bring forth the catalyzing of powerful forces in many forms, the awakening of a will to power than can be both creative and destructive, and a tangible intensification and acceleration of human experience," he said.

In Cosmos and Psyche, Tarnas noted that while all of these specific themes have been strongly in evidence during past Uranus-Pluto alignments, precisely what will happen during the current 15-year cycle can't be known in advance. But an intensified striving for equality and self-sovereignty could be on the immediate horizon, he predicted.
