'Six-to-Fix' Plan - 6 Bold Steps to Restore America's Financial Security

Congress is not restricted to term limits. As a result, power and influence in the Congress has shifted the balance of power to those Congressmen who have been in power the longest.

The TWO AND NO MORE PLEDGE will simply state that after two terms in Congress, the elected official will voluntarily step aside. The pledge make it a requirement that if you are running for another office, that you resign from your existing office and let someone else do the job to serve those constituents. Finally, the pledge is a commitment of our Congressmen to eliminate 'earmarking' or 'pork bellying,' and instead allowing material in the bills that relates to its primary purpose.

2. FAIR, FLAT AND FOCUSED TAX REFORM
Institute a flat 20% tax on all household incomes over $25,000. No deductions. No corporate taxes. No exemptions. You would simply take your income, subtract $25,000, and then multiply the remainder by 20 percent to compute your federal tax. Those under $25,000 would receive a check, and would have to do community service-related work to the extent they receive income subsidies.

Institute a 1.5% National Sales Tax on finished goods as they are sold to another person or business, making tax avoidance difficult and proportional to citizen spending, including illegal aliens.

We suggest creating a $1.50 per gallon on gas by the U.S. Government. The revenue from this tax would be used to improve infrastructure and fund the development of natural gas pumps nationwide at existing gas stations, which can go a long way to solving foreign oil dependency.

3. TARGETED BUDGET REDUCTIONS; STREAMLINE ENTITLEMENTS

Our government spends more money than it earns by nearly 60 percent, and is expected to grow at 14 percent annually. We recommend Congress enact across-the-board expenses cuts, starting with the largest expenses, to bring its expenses in line.

4. TORT REFORM

We are being strangled by frivolous legal costs. Specifically, only in the United States can you sue a person, lose and not have any financial costs borne by the losing party. This plan would limit outrageous settlements, legal costs and the number of nuisance lawsuits, by penalizing the losing party.

5. HEALTHY CITIZENS, HEALTY AMERICA

The Food and Drug Administration works for the many drug and food companies that are turning Americans into the fattest and most drug-dependent people on the planet. The unhealthier our citizens are as a nation, the higher medical costs we will have in the future. Our plan would be to rethink approved food additives and drugs that create more costs on society long term.

6. WITH HONOR, REMOVE TROOPS FROM IRAQ AND AFGANISTAN

Department of Defense directives are largely controlled by Congress, not the military. Spending can be trimmed by Congress by transitioning out of war in the Middle East, or charging nations for the costs of providing military help. Our military has already gone on record telling Congress money needs to be spent to better handle the kind of threats we will face in the future versus the past.

FRP Training Courses Slated for Houston and Frankfurt

These unique programs will provide a comprehensive overview of the areas that are of critical importance for evaluating the quality and conformance of new FRP equipment and piping.

The classroom sessions are intended for personnel who are professional inspectors, but have little or no background in FRP inspections. An engineering degree or certificate and/or experience in fabrication, repair, or inspection of FRP equipments are recommended prerequisites.

"While there are quite a few public courses, seminars, and training classes to help younger and less experienced Inspectors develop inspection competencies for metallic equipment, the same does not apply for fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) equipment," points out Hardin Wells, Sr. Advisor - Mechanical Tech Service at Albemarle Corporation and MTI Project Champion. "The membership of the Materials Technology Institute recognized the lack of similar training for FRP equipment. The MTI FRP Inspector training class is designed as a first step towards filling that void.

"Unlike metallic equipment, where the raw materials (plate, pipe, fittings) are homogeneous and built in accordance by others per longstanding industry standards, the FRP materials used for FRP equipment are very much non-homogeneous, and are created by the fabricator as the equipment is being produced," explains Wells. "These features create significantly greater inspection challenges than are present for metallic equipment, where the inspector must validate both the creation of the raw material alongside creation of the equipment."
