July 23, 2010 -- Video game publisher Ubisoft announced its final Q1 2010 sales figures, which totaled €161 million, nearly double the revenue from Q1 2009.

Ubisoft increased its Q1 2010 revenue 94% thanks to strong sales of Splinter Cell Conviction and solid sales of its back-catalog and casual titles as well as good sales of Just Dance, Assassin's Creed 2 and Avatar.

The company reported that in the first six months of 2010, it was the No. 4 independent publisher in the US with a 6% market share, a gain of 1.2% from the previous year. Ubisoft's share is even stronger in its home base of Europe as the company said it is the No. 2 independent publisher with 9.5% market share (and increase of 1.5%).
