Obama appoints Gene Hale to President's Export Council

Washington, DC - July 20, 2010 -- President Obama has appointed Gene Hale to the prestigious President's Export Council. The President's Export Council (PEC) is the principal national advisory committee on international trade. The council advises the President of government policies and programs that affect U.S. trade performance; promotes export expansion; and provides a forum for discussing and resolving trade-related problems among the business, industrial, agricultural, labor, and government sectors. Hale is CEO and President of G&C Equipment Corporation, one of the nations largest black-owned businesses. President George W. Bush appointed Hale to the Presidents Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He was also appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Small Business Board. He is currently Chairman of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce.
