NATO, Russia on Same Side as They Plan to Develop Joint Missile Defense System
May 20, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ -- Former Cold War rivals NATO and Russia have announced plans to work together to protect Europe and Russia from missile threats that could come from Iran's developing missile capability.
The first steps of the agreement will include integration of NATO's current short-range system, employed by many of NATO's 28 member nations, and Russia's S-300 Gladiator system. Short-range missile defense is separate from President Obama's proposal for a more sophisticated land-and-sea system.
