New Digital Scanning Technique Detects Breast Cancer in Women Under 50
May 18, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ -- Breast tissue in women younger than 50 tends to be denser and harder for conventional mammogram scans to detect, but a new digital infra-red technique pushes up the detection rate dramatically.
The technology originally was developed by the US military for night vision use. It uses a camera to detect heat, sensing temperature changes in the skin that shows up slightly warmer than surrounding healthy cells.
