Coke, Pepsi to Implement Better Calorie Labeling February 10, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ Faced with a proposed soda tax in several states and a new initiative to stop childhood obesity by First Lady Michelle Obama, the two biggest soft-drink makers in the US are teaming up to make their nutrition labels less cryptic. Both Coca-Cola and Pepsi will team up to help create better caloric content labels for their products. Beginning this summer, calories will be prominently marked on the front of packages, vending machines and soda fountains, according to the American Beverage Association. Additionally, labels will display the total calories contained in a bottle or can of a beverage, not just a calories-per-serving figure - a figure which some believe is deceptive.
