Novartis Posts 54 pct Q4 Profit Increase Fueled by Exchange Rate, H1N1 Vaccine
January 26, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis posted a $2.3 billion net profit in its fourth quarter, a 54 percent increase over 2008. For the year, Novartis posted a record profit of $8.4 billion.
Outgoing Novartis CEO Daniel Vasella said in a conference call with reporters that Novartis benefited from favorable exchange rates and the shipment of large orders of swine flu vaccine.
